the side of my radiator has a decent leak so i need to replace it soon.
what is the stock row of the radiator? 1 or 2? and which one should I buy.
I know the 2 row is $100 more..

It's a single row. Personally I would just buy a stock radiator from a local parts store. I picked up one for my 98 about 4 or five years ago and I have never had a problem with it and only paid around $100. I run at 210deg year round and never had a over heating problem with it and I live in South Texas where in the summer the ambient temp can reach any where from 110- 115 deg. The best thing If I do ever need to replace it I just have to take it back to Auto Zone and not have to worry about it being shipped. I know that some would disagree with me. If you are going to replace your rad. you may as well do it right and change out you t-stat, hoses, rad. cap and flush the entire cooling system. Don't forget to check your fan clutch. and add 50/50 water and coolant.

the radiator, water pump, thermastat and gasket will only cost me about 124$ total

Very true. With all the work you are going to put into it you would be better off just changing it. You can still over heat it if you don't change it and be in a worse situation then you have now. It's not worth taking a chance if you don't know how old it is.

As for testing the fan clutch;
If you get a copy of your local free weekly newspaper, roll it up & with the jeep idling when hot straight after a drive, try carefully placing the rolled up paper in the fan & see if it stops it, if it does, its stuffed. its a good idea to try this as well when its cold, sometimes as bad fan clutch will grip when cold & not when hot.
