Default Replacing power steering line...

Ok, so in my 1988 Cherokee Laredo, my power steering line has a leak, well, more the line is old and frayed and has no clamp on it. This is the line coming straight from the resorvoir you fill. I have a brand new line and all, but am just curious-

When I replace it, how do I bleed the power steering? Do I just turn the wheels back and forth until I have air bubbles coming through the resorvoir.

All help is appreciated, and thank you in advance.

is this the high pressure line, or the return line?

either way, it's easy to replace. but the hp line may give you a bit of grief as the threaded end is tough to get out of the steering box.

i just cut my hard line right above the threaded nut and used a socket.

don't do what i did and remove the lower rad hose on my renix closed cooling setup. it was a beotch to burp the air out after.

and yeah, i just left the power steering cap off and cycled my steering a few times. works great.

Oh Em Gee!!! I know exactly what you went through.

I didnt have a crows foot wrench...went to like FOUR hardware stores, no one even knew what I was talking about.

I dont remember what I did anymore, but I remember it was a MAJOR pita.

But it was done. And has been fine since.

Cut the line and use a socket wrench to remove from box or pump

LOL. I will look into it. I saw that it wrapped around to the steering box, so at least I know what to expect...
