I lost my keys a couple of days ago and I decided to buy a new ignition lock. I was able to pull the steering wheel but now I cant remove this metal plate. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks

What he said ^^^^^

I have been able to push down hard enough on the locking plate with my hand to be able to sneek the C clip off, but its mother trying to re-install it with out the proper tool....

But if I'm not mistaken, you might have to be able to turn the key the ACC position to get the whole locking mechanism out. If not there is a Philips screw that you have to remove once you have the locking plate of. It has been a while since i had to mess with my GM tilt steering coloum, but if i also remember wright, you might have to also remove the plastic piece that holds all the wire for the blinker assembly also...
