Have any tips for doing this?
Taking a ride to advanced auto parts in alittle, hopefully won't be too expensive

Clean the throttle body out well, thats the usual reason these act up. Other than that its just two screws. IAC cost about $50

Make sure to also clean out the hole the IAC fits into, q-tips work well. I think you can get them cheaper than $50 if you call around. Most of the time the IAC can just be cleaned up and will work fine, not sure if that is the case for you or not.

Grab a can of Throttle Body cleaner, take off the 4 torx bolts holding the tb down, unhook the IAC and TPS, and find a good work area. Take the total of 4 screws out (2 for the TPS, 2 for the IAC), and go to town with the cleaner. That'll prob clear it right up. Total investment:

Can of TB cleaner - $5
**Optional: Beer of choosing for afterwards - $10

Edit: Did I say Beer? I meant soda...

Well the engine stays at a high idle at atlittle over 1000 rpms, if cleaning the throttle body fails to work that would most likely mean I need a new iac?
