Default Replacing heater core....a/c lines?

I'm about to replace my heater core in my 98xj and just want to see if I'm going to need to break into my a/c lines to do this? I'd rather not if at all possible....but if so I'm gonna take it to a shop to dump my freon before hand. Thanks in advance guys!
