Question Replacing ECU for '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My ECU seems to have gone bad in my 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4, 4.0L automatic. I'm about to buy a used one on eBay, using the same model # as is on my ECU (P56041638AF).

My question is this: After I install it, do I need to get the dealership to do anything? Or will it be up and running right away? If the dealership needs to do something, is there anyway to do it myself with a scantool or anything?

Anything you can offer, I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thanks!! Andrew
