Replacing the CPS
Does anyone have any diagrams or awesome advice for replacing the crank position sensor on a 95 Cherokee 4.0? I have googled the **** out of this and all i get is that is near the bellhousing and the transmission. By the way i am a complete novice to actually digging through the engine. Thanks in advance!
If you picture the back of the motor at the bell housing as a clock it would be sitting at around 11:00. There are two bolts, 12mm IIRC, and they are accessible, but a little tough to get to. Lots of extension, and a u-joint socket will get-r-done. The plug is up by the intake, at least it is on the Rennys, I'm not too familiar with HO models, but I bet they are at least similar. Once you get the bolts out, it pull out of a rubber boot upwards. If you have any more questions, let me know, and I'll try to help as much as I can!!
I use this page for all my sensor questions and replacement needs. There are pics of the CPS, diagram, and a PDF link with tips on replacing it. It is for non HO engines but everthing is pretty much in the same place. I'm doing my CPS tonight also. http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/...iagnostics.htm
