Replacing axle mounts on a 91 cherokee front axle.
My bushings for the dogbone (axle mounts?) on the front axle are shot. A lot ppl I have asked are confused about the "dogbone" term, but Ive heard it commonly so I hope thats what is called. Anyways, it connects to the frame under the pass seat area to the front axle which has two A-mounts; That bushing in those mounts doesn't come out? Ive hammered, screwed, pushed, etc. How does that bushing come out?

Dogbone is the upper motor mount in fiero's lol
Control arms connect the axle to the body. What your asking about is the upper control arm bushing replacement. srry but cant really help you there

Dang, thats what I thought. Any 'jerry-rig' advice to keep my front from bouncing? (like i said the bushings are deteriorating)

nope, no "jerry-rig" fix for this. you have to remove and replace the bushings.
they are not hard to do, as mentioned, just use a hole saw to cut out the rubber center then you can use a torch to remove any excess rubber, then install some poly bushings in place.

It's about a 30 to 40 dollar difference between buying the bushings and installing them yourself and just buying the complete control arm with the bushing in it. If you don't have the tools to do this then you just might be better off buying the complete control arm with bushings already installed as a complete unit.
