I have a 99/2000 reg Cherokee 4.0 petrol auto in the UK.

Has a PCM fault sometimes cuts out and will not start. Have eliminated most other issues hence going to change the PCM.

Who do you recommend to buy a rebuilt pcm from?
I have read some are recon and some are fully rebuilt?
Does anyone in UK offer this.
If USA who to use?

Is this an excchange service or do they just supply me a new one.

My car has a factory immobiliser how will I get the new pcm coded to my current key? Is this off the chassis number? Off the key? Of the old PCM.

I am in the UK so difficult for me to send the key or old pcm to the supplier in the US.

thanks for any help given currently without a car and stuck in a remote part of scotland till we get a replacement pcm fitted.

 

Whoever sells you the PCM will have to program your VIN into it. The security system is part of the Body Control Module (BCM).

 

any recommendations on who to buy from?

is the body control module part of the pcm? if not then do I need to get the ecu re-coded to the chassis number will it run without this?

 

Any advice on who to buy a rebuilt not refurbed PCM with a warranty?
