replaced o2 three times still have CEL

Default replaced o2 three times still have CEL

So pretty self explanatory i got a CEL went to advanced was downstream i changed it reset pcm went away for about an hour came back on. Wires? Fuses? The harness to the o2 was a little turn up electric taped it still CEL

Did you check the wiring while down there for issue possibly grounding to metal...What number code came up ?

check the wiring harness where it goes behind the fuel rail . I had the CEL coming on for the coolant sensor and the harness was rubbed through and grounding to the fuel rail . I'm pretty sure the O2 wires are in the same bundle of wires

What was the code? If it was P0420 code it's not the sensor, it's the catalytic converter. O2 sensor codes do always mean the sensor is bad.

Well i don't know what P code it was but it does keep saying bank 1 sensor 2 when i get it checked at advanced. I'll check up by the fuel rail here in a min. Btw i do not have a cat

That is the problem! Just keep throwing o2 sensors at it though, maybe the ECM will finally surrender and quit giving the code.

Yes. The RPMs will be higher at freeway speeds an fuel mileage will suffer, but it won't hurt anything.

Good luck finding a cat at the junkyard. Most places sell them to recyclers that harvest the precious metals out of them. That is why catalytic converter theft is a huge problem, there's money in them things. You should be able to find a brand new cat for around a hundred fifty bucks, another seventy five to have it installed.
