Default How to remove window crank?

Planning on removing my door panel but afraid if I pull to hard on crank I will break something. How should I remove it?

I have a piece of a wire clothes hanger 12" long that I bend the tip on one end about 90 degrees, about 1/8" from the end.And with that I can pull the clip.

My 90 has only the plastic ring holding it on. I use a door panel tool to carefully pry it off. I've done this twice and no damage to the crank.
