REPLACE "retaining strap" WHEN INSTALLING NEW HEATER CORE ??
HEATER CORE REPLACEMENT
To remove the old core, my Jeep manual says to...
"Cut the retaining strap that holds the blower/evaporator...
Do I need to replace this strap when installing a new core?
If not, do I just leave it out?

I have not changed a core on an XJ but when I changed ones in a car I made a retainer strap and re installed it with the strap. I used the plumbers strap with multiple holes in it. You may find something better.
