Default Few Problems and Questions....

94 Cher Sport 4WD.... 169,xxx miles.

First thing I noticed, lots of random plugs/connectors that are not plugged into anything under the hood. Worries me, but runs so I guess I will just leave those alone.

The one that realy gets me, is a plug coming off the block, right above the oil filter, with one skinny wire that goes twoards the front of the car, where I'm not sure.

Also, another wire that comes from the loom in the main harness up against the firewall, and goes to the distributor...just kinda pinched up between the cap and rotor.

I think it may have had a stereo system at one point, there are lots of disconnected wires under the dash that are from a stereo hookup, and one for a radar detector.

Otherwise, had one of the techs at my work check it out, really only needs a front wheel bearing, serp belt is OK but could be replaced, and valve cover is seeping but very very slowly. Rear main seal is good, trans has a very minor leak, but nothing to worry about right now.

The one thing I would like to fix and cant figure out is a clunk every so often while driving. U-Joints? Trans Mount? Motor Mount? Tranny shifts smooth, motor idles nicely except for a slight miss every once in a while, but it needs a tuneup wich is first on the list.

Is it safe to seafoam this thing? It could probably use that as well.

Sorry for all the questions, and thanks for the help in advance!

No opinions on your wiring, but your clunk could be shocks or swaybar bushings.

Ahhh...never even thought of that. Shocks are brand new as the previous owner just replaced them. I'll have to check sway bushings....

I figured with the miles and such, I will probably just do all 8 u-joints at $15 each, as well as both front bearings at $130 each, and the trans mount at a whopping $39. Cheap preventative maintenance I guess.....

well, AC works, and oil guage reads pressure....

Another guy I took for a ride says the clunk is due to the slight missfire. Dont know if I believe that, but I know it needs a tune up, so plugs/wires/cap/rotor and fuel injector cleaning are soon to be done. Hopefully that takes care of it....
