Replace fog lights/fixtures (in bottom of front bumper)?

I believe they are called fog lights. The lights built into the front bumper were broken out when I bought it. One fixture is missing entirely but the wiring is still there, the other fixture is present but badly rusted.

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive but suitable replacement set that includes the whole fixture?

What do I look for? Are there universal fog lights that are a direct fit for the XJ bumper?

they sell a set of DOT fogs that are almost exactly the same as the stock ones. they won't be exactly plug and play, but as long as you have the stock housings with the plug on the back, you can just splice into the plug and clip em in. really good little lights too, look up reviews for them. I got my set with a coupon for like $9

I don't have the original housings - one is missing.

Yeah the wire is dangling down and has a connector on the end. It looks like you just drill a hole in the bottom of the bumper / trim, and the post & nut on the bottom of the light holds it in place?

Basically. I'm sure you could find a way to mount it in the stock location. I honesty haven't looked at how mine are held in, but I imagine its similar or at least adaptable.

I have a similar issue with my 98 classic. When I get around to it, I'll just measure up the opening and find some aftermarket fogs that will fit in the opening. It's just a matter of mounting them securely and splicing in the wires. You may have to get a little creative with the mounting task, but that builds character.

You can buy the stock replacements on amazon. These are the ones I bought for my 2000. Plug and play. The cheapest I could find.

Not a bad price for stock replacement. How did they work out for you?

IMHO anytime you can buy new do so, always with lighting and steering parts and the best quality you can afford. You will find they are cheaper in the long run.

$62 for oem fogs? No thanks. You could buy a lot of harbor freight lights for that.

Amen to that! Id hate to smoke my bumper on something and lose $60 lights. For that price, I could break the HF lights 5 times...
