Wondering if anyone has thought of way to repair the broken off nipple that the washer fluid hose attaches to with out replacement of washer unit. See item cicled in photo.
Maybe a screw in nipple of some sort? (Have no idea if someone makes screw in nipples.)
When mine broke, I thought of that. At the time I didn't have anything small enough to fit the hose on the wiper arm. I was able to find a replacement bezel online so I bought it and the gasket behind it.
That was a few years ago. It recently broke off again. Not sure I'm going to bother again.
I don't remember where I saw it, but someone fixed this issue with a part from one of those gas powered rc car motors, it's a nipple for the carburetor. Similar to this https://www.ebay.com/itm/28264476567...QaAh0rEALw_wcB
The '96 down one are available as far as I know.
'97 and up ones not so much.
I remember reading where a guy used a Bic pen.
The old school one. The part the holds the ink.
Just cut a piece off and rigged it up. I think he just glued it in.
I always figured if I broke the one on my '00 I would just extend the washer hose.
Drill it out. Put a longer piece on the wiper arm to go into the hatch.
Connect it to the other hose with something like this:
If I remember correctly I fixed mine with a double barb 1/8 fitting from the plumbing section at the hardware store. Drilled out the bezel and used e6000 adhesive which is resistant to methanol.
If you come across any videos telling you to fix it by cutting a little piece of ink pen off the end of the ink stick, dont do it. Its only going to last maybe 8 months before it breaks and crumbles.
I did use the fuel line for nitro RC cars for the tube repair. I also covered it in black heat shrink since the tube is silicone colored. I gotta get a permanent fix for the little nipple thingy...
