Default Renix Vacuum Can Delete?

Installing winch bumper, this was behind the stocker. Instructions say to relocate, but can I just delete?

I have both, but the cruise doesn't currently work and I plan to delete both this summer.

It has two chambers and two check valves. One side cruz and the other heater/ac control. Without it nothing will work when you have your foot in it/no manifold vacuum. On a non ABS Renix under the bottle is a popular spot for it, can be anywhere though.

Good info. I took it out for now but will soon find a place in the engine compartment to stash it.

Thanks all!

If you have the Vac-Disco on the RF axle you will need to cap it's tube past the "Y" that provides vacuum to the Vacuum switch on the transfer case, located sort of behind the dipsticks. (A 242 T-Case with "full time" option will not have a disco)

Thanks for the photo credit Ken! Nice light there.

There was a "Y", and I capped it on the vac can side, so I should be good.

Thanks!

Grab a small one if you're gonna eliminate the cruise control:

Did you do the vacuum elimination to the front axle?

Could I just cut the one I have in half, or almost in half? It appears to have two chambers in it.

Nope. I haven't looked into it as an option, though I may in the future as a simplification procedure.

I suppose any canister with a check valve, and a line to the heater flaps could work. Slick671 just put his whole bottle here, which leaves someone down the road the option to fix the cruse. If you are just mudden and off-road, the cruse and the disco, you don't need. Since I only do that by accident, I'm peachy with stock, as it was designed. A "heads up". The rubber block that holds the vacuum lines on the "Disco" get's "soggy" with oil and easily falls off, leaving you with no 4-WD. A large zip-tie loosely can prevent a limb or snow from knocking it off.

Or you can lock the disco, like Chrysler did on all the newer. All that means is your differential carrier spins twice as fast, as well as the front drive-line and whatever gears and bearings it spins in the transfer case. No big deal, U Joints and transfer cases are pretty cheap.

The little cans are cheap at the JY and are the same on numerous vehicles. You must have it for your HVAC vents to work.

I would eliminate the vacuum disconnect on the front axle as a matter of curse bcause they can leave a guy stranded.

Need the write-up for that?

Yep, better explaination. My AC and heat still work, but both only come out the defrost vents now. I'll likely use the can I already have, either as is or cut in half to save space.

I'll take that writeup, but I'll leave my questions about it to another thread.

Thanks to all!
