Renix type rotor on distributor on an HO motor?

Engine: 4.0 now 4.6
95 XJ 2Dr 4.0/AX15/NP231
Doing a tune up on the old girl.
While replacing the cap and rotor I noticed that this motor has the renix style rotor versus the HO rotor. Am I missing something? Plus, the rotor will not come off. The cap came off easy enough but the rotor, not so much.
Is this normal? Ive head that 95 is a weird year for these but this is my first jeep so Im still nick the new guy here...

Also, I purchased a used NP231 from a place and the rectangle piece of metal that the linkage attached to was put on backwards. I had to have my linkage cut in two and have it welded up with both linkage connection nipples pointing in the same direction. Weird...
