renix stumbling acceleration
Hey all!
New to the forum here
Madly in love with jeeps lol
Well I got a 90 renix xj she seems to idle fine and run smooth but when I pull off from say a light I can only barey press the gas or mayne 3/4 throttle for it to go smoothly. If I dont it seems to not have enough gas and it back fires and stumbles on itself bad. It never stalls or anything. Oh and one more thing it has to crank over like 6 or 7 times to actually start.
New tps dialed in perfect. New coil, plugs, wires are good....
Fuel filter was leaking a little from the hose going to the sending unit next day it is not leaking.
And it seems to take a long time to get to operating temp if it actually gets there not sure if there is a thermostat in it. Guy I bought it from was a tad shady idk lol

Welcome have you done Cruisers tips for your Renix? I would suggest doing these before anything else since most are free or very low cost Cruiser saved my Jeep from the doom of a life under a tarp.

Turning over 6-7 times before it fires off is typical for a Renix especially if the battery is not 100%.
Low fuel pressure can cause the symptoms you describe, but definitely do the Cruiser checks & fixes first.

The TPS won't be dialed in perfect if it's ground is bad.
Do tips 1,3,4,and 5.

Awesome seems like he knows what hes talking about. I already put new plugs in it and made a new ground for the dipstick tube I think thats were the tps is grounded to and I noticed my negative battery cable is loose and will not tighten any more it looks really worn down maybe it isnt correctly ground lol. Ill grab a new battery and see what happens. You think that could be it seems like these renix are super sensitive to grounds. Ill grab a fuel filter to.
