87 renix. This a trail rig only. I havnt started in a couple months go to start it. and it wont start. Fuel pump wasnt getting power so i jumped it. Now it will start but wont stay running unless i hold the key in the start postion.

is there anyway i can wire it to were the jeep thinks its starting but the starter isnt engaged? or what could be run? im at a loss right now

 

How does your ballast resistor look. Check on that then reply back

 

bypassed im 100% sure the fuel pump is on during these test. like i said it runs great if i hold the key in the start position

 

agree bypass the ballast resistor and try again. If you are still having the problem check the ign switch on top of the column, may be burnt up.
