So I had a stock fuel pump it was loud I replaced it with a precision unit from o Riley's. I used them on my last xj. Now it's also loud and the gauge is slow to respond. Has anyone used this brand before. Or what brand is recommended. I read some where on a 87 they had ballast resistors installed for noise. Mine is a 90. Any ideas this is driving me nuts

What brand? Not Airtex, I hope.
Yours has a ballast resistor unless someone bypassed it.
How long has it been in there? Did you drop the little snubber off the pickup tube while installing it?

I have used precision many times and not really had any problems. Had really good luck with them on several different vehicles.

It's a precision. I read that they were using airtex about 4 years ago. But the last one I used was good my ballast is installed. And no the return line rubber is in place. I'm just going to let it run its life out being loud. It's getting me better mpg some how. I went from a religious 14 to a religious 17.6
