Default Renix cylinder head replacement
so at 180,000 my 89 xj blew a head gasket and cracked the head. do you guys know of any performance head for a renix? something to give it a little pick up. or just get a rebuilt head

Just get a rebuilt head.

The only "true aftermarket" head out there is the Patriot/HESCO aluminum head, but it doesn't work with the RENIX manifolds, you'd have to use it with the 1991-up manifolds.

The conversion is entirely possible, but does require some work and adaptation.

The #2686 RENIX head can be found on 1987-1990 XJ and MJ with 6-242 engine, it wasn't used anywhere else. May take some digging to find, but it is also possible for a competent machine shop to stop-drill the crack and plug/weld it to stop it. Iron heads are nice like that...
