Renix cruise control
My 89 cruise control has worked normally since Ive had it (couple years)..lately when I hit it, the Jeep will simply accelerate. Ive searched a bit and have read that maybe a vac leak will cause this? Looking for a little more in depth info I guess.
Thanks.
Thanks.

A vacuum leak will usually cause it to not accelerate or hold speed. The servo is vacuum driven so not enough vacuum means it can't pull on the throttle. The service manual says : "VEHICLE CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE WHEN "SET" BUTTON IS RELEASED => Servo or control module defective". I'd be tempted to open up the module and check the solder joints myself.
