I went to add coolant today *did a flush on Saturday and I'm burping her* The cap will not seal now. The gasket looks fine. No cracks or anything. When you take the gasket out of the cap, the cap will screw on nice and tight. Put the gasket in, the cap will screw on to a point and the pop off. I have never heard of this.

Well, I'm going to scrap that recovery tank with one from a 1st gen Dodge Intrepid. I've also thought about going to an open system, but it seems that the closed system issues has to do with the recovery tank it self.
If the bottle is fine, you can replace the cap with a 150 psi cap for a Volvo 940 turbo. Mine started doing that and I got one of those. Fits perfectly, works great and is lower profile so the hood doesn't press on it. Cheap, too, like $7.
Don't remember the model # but the parts guys will call it a radiator cap though it isn't.
