Default Renix A/C Recharge Help

So, I know how to recharge the system, but I'm having some issues. The quick connect fitting has been on this line for as long as I can remember, but I can't help but think it's the high pressure line. Whenever my dad or I have tried recharging the system, the hose balloons and the pressure gauge is maxed out. So if somebody could tell my which line is which, that would be awesome. TIA

If it makes any difference, it's been converted to r134a

Did you remove the metal cap beside the adapter and open the valve? If not, then nothing will go into the system.

The cap inline with the line?

That's a 134a adapter on the low side.

So do I or don't I have to mess with that valve?
