Removing the trim along support beam by windshield
Hey there,
I'm having difficulty removing the trim along the support column that runs between the windshield and the passenger side window. Can anyone illuminate me on its removal? Thanks a lot.

The A-pillar trim?
There are 4 or 5 screws that hold it on, 2 for the oh-**** handle and 2 or 3 by the windshield and you have to remove the trim that overlays it in the back. not very hard

I've got a 2000 limited and the a-pillar trim is not screwed on by the windshield. It uses little brackets that are horribly molded into the trim so that the trim "snaps" onto the pillar. Problem is, the trim also "snaps" off the the brackets when you try to remove it.
Does anyone have any tips for removing this type? I'd rather just replace them with the screw on type, but I have the almost black interior and all the XJs at the JY have the lighter, grey interior. The passenger side was loose and I found out why shortly after I bought it. I'm afraid to pull the driver side off to install a gauge pod because I don't want to break it.
Anyone know if the really dark interior came in an XJ that had the scew on type a-pillar trim?
