Removing old tubing from fitting without breaking stuff...
So my power steering pump needed a new high pressure line. I figured since I was going through all that hassle I might as well replace the return line too. Well, the return line was stuck on my PS reservoir and the nipple snapped off. I'm grabbing a replacement reservoir tomorrow at NAPA but I still gotta get the return line off the fitting connected to the steering gear box thingie. How do you get old lines off the fittings without breaking stuff? It's like the damn thing is glued on there.
Thanks!
Thanks!

In retrospect I wouldn't have messed with the return line either. It was just recommended to me that I go ahead and do it. The issue is that you can't just slide the hose part off. It's stuck on there. I tried prying it off, pulling it off, cutting it off etc. but it will not come off the nipple. That's how I broke my PS reservoir. I don't want to break the fittings that connect to the steering unit down there so I'm trying to find a more gentle way to get the hose off.

does abrb=barb?
Yeah it looks metal, so I kinda figured a razor would be my only option. It's thin though, and I've sliced through thin metal with a razor before.
By the way, getting the high pressure fitting off is a pain in the *** because the low pressure fitting blocks most of the access to it. Blargh.
On the reservoir, unfortunately, that's definitely plastic, and I didn't really think a razor was a good idea. It broke anyway so not like that made any difference in the end.

You aren't stealing anything.
I have no idea. I haven't looked at it closely. All I had time to do today was pull the PS pump off. From a quick glance earlier it looked like there was a bolt holding it on, but I could be wrong.
