You shouldn't have to yank the axle to remove the oil pan, something's not adding up here. You're saying when you try to pull it out it's contacting the axle and won't come out?

It should come out. But with my 6.5" I had to still had to completely lift my axle off the ground so the oil pan wouldn't hit the axle and the tranny housing

First ? do you have any lift? Next thing if you dont, remove the lower shock bolts and remove the upper control arms at the axle then it will hang low enough to remove the oil pan.

OK, I know this is gonna sound crazy but.............As the axle droops it actually moves to the rear a bit. If you have it jack up at the frame so the axle droops pull the pan out to that spot where it will almost come out but just won't, then.......lift the axle from the center ever so slightly, like with a small jack. I'm talkin like 2 inches. Just work it man. There's a sweet spot and the pan will fall out. I didn't believe it but tried it anyway and the pan hit me right across the bridge of the nose. It just fell out.
Lifting the axle it will swing slightly forward and find that sweet spot and I didn't detach anything
