Default Removing Drag-link from Pitman arm

Im taking out my front axle and the only thing left to remove, is the drag-link from the pitman arm. I tried hitting it with a ball peen it went down a bit and now it doesnt want to come out.

Is there a tool I need to remove it?

bigger hammer. i was at the junk yard this weekend trying to find a good draglink so i had to take 3 or 4 off....i was using an axle shaft to smack the pitman arm. sometime it takes a lot of good smacks, sometimes it just takes a couple. good luck

the problem with a hammer is that theres not much room to swing.

I thought about using the pickle fork but am worried about damaging the joint

Use a fork, I use them all the time works the shiznit. Just put the flat side toward the pitman arm and the angled side won't damage the rubber. You won't ruin the tie-rod, the fork is the right tool for this job.

The only thing that gets damaged is the dust cover, which is replaceable.
