removing both leaf springs?
My son and I are in the middle of a marathon 3" rough country lift. I have limited time to work on the project, so have been doing a hour or two here and there which is good, because it gives us both time to calm down and regroup. Anyway, we now have the drivers side rear leaf off, and are waiting on a new set of shackles to come in from Quadratech. Is is possible to remove the other leaf spring while we wait? I don't know if we need to leave one attached, to help line things up or not. Also, I am thinking of cutting off the other spring with a cutting torch to eliminate the pressure holding the spring bolts in. Is this a good idea or not? I am glad we are not pressed for time to put this lift on, it has been a total pain in the *ss. It is a good experience for a father/son project. The front spring went on without a hitch, just took time. Thanks for any information!!

Well, if I was doing it the jeep would be on jackstands, the axle sitting on the ground, both leaves just hanging there from the mounts. So i could do both sides, then remount the axle

I actually installed the same 3" rough country lift too and i had no experience so it took me a good 8 hrs.
Yes you can remove the other leaf (which i did) BUT you will have an unstable axle, my axle was free to move left right up and down so it was kind of a pita to get it back in position. It actually kinda "rolled" on me and almost fell off the jack, i've only done it once so i'm assuming that it would have been easier to do one at a time unless you got something to hold it in place from every angle it can move.

Hmm maybe i shoulda set my axle on the ground, it was on a jack when i did it (cause i used the jack on the axle at first to pick the jeep off the ground)

Yeah, I don't even remove the wheels, when I mess with the springs, anymore. I just undo the u-bolts and shocks and jack the jeep off the axle. Adjusting a Bastard pack can kinda force you to find a shortcut here and there.
