Ok, I've decided to go with a reman'd engine. I have a 95 4.0 auto 4WD Cherokee. Anybody know a good company to go with ? Also, what was your experience with the company? Right now I am looking at an ATK engine but I would really like to get opinions from you guys. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

 

if you have a local 4 wheel parts they can order you an ATK engine which will be a good one.. Also your local parts houses like Autozone, Advanced, Napa and such can order them as well. I ordered mine though citymotorsupply.com mainly because it was cheaper then anyone around here and shipping was $25... Also check engine shops around you sometimes you can get a pretty good deal that way. I checked some around here and they wanted closes to what I paid for mine but I had to pull my engine bring it in for inspection then they'd give me a motor.

My 91 xj has 47k miles on a re-manufactured motor from Carquest. Runs excellent.

 

i've had luck with atk, and jasper. another good one is eagle engine, they do factory rebuilds for gm, and do other engines. just stay away from the hokey no names, even if they have a decent warranty, it sucks if you have to keep using it. there's too many rebuilders out there now, a lot of crappy rebuild engines and trans going around.

i see alot of low milage 98+ 4.0 motors on craigslist out of wrecked jeeps. most for around 2-400 complete..........Might want to try that.

Jasper has been very good for us at the dealership I work. we have used there trannny's, motors and rear ends

 

good point, i would actually prefer a low mileage oe engine than a rebuild.

 

If you can find a remanufactured JASPER From Jasper Indina you are way ahead of the game, Ive been thu their plant. Its the best reman out their a lot of fleets and local garage use them as they hardy ever have a problem. Good luck...

 

i have a jasper reman in my 88 its has about 50000 and runs great
