Default Reinstalling drive shaft

I'm am at the last leg of my axle swap and I'm installing the new drive shaft. When I slipped it on the output shaft, the boot wont slip over the drive shaft. The silver zip tie thing is preventing it. Do I just cut the silver thing off and slip the boot over the shaft and zip tie the boot to the shaft?

you bend back the little tab holding the ring together. slip boot over yolk, put metal ring back on, bend little tab back to lock it in place.

no problem. i had to figure the same thing out when the rear pinion sheared in half... leaving my rear end locked (part of the pinion fell into the carrier). fun stuff. or you could even cut it and use zip ties if you want. the boot isnt part of the seal but i wanted to tell you the correct way before suggesting "just cut the ****er off" lol
