You may want to check out Randy's Ring & Pinion, and some of the other online driveline sites. You may also want to pick up a JY 29 spline rear end and then just change gears and lock it. That way you would already have the axle shafts and the carrier, of course if you are going to go with a full locker you will not need a carrier.

You have more money than me then, I don't think I could afford to lock and change gears when I plan on going to Dana 60s. If by pump out some 37s you mean to upgrade to 37 inch tires. I would go to an Explorer 8.8 with 4.10s and lock it, that would be good for up to a 40 inch tire.

A hi-pinion 44 with aftermarket shafts would work fine and so would a 8.8. If it was me looking to run 37s on a Cherokee I would go with a hi-pinion 44 and a 8.8 and run 5.13 gears and ARBs front & rear with a 4-1 tera flex gear set for my 231 transfer case giving me a crawl ratio of 78.6 with a manual or 57.4 with an automatic. I would do the 8.8 now and when I got ready to go to the 37s all I would have to do would be upgrade the d30 to a d44. That is just me though.

to go any further then 35's on a cherokee requires major modification, and there are guys on here that do it but it will be a bunch of money and not for a novice. the dana 30 will be fine for 35's even locked, it will be fine.

ok if you want to just upgrade the splines to 29 spline, then you need to replace the two horizontal spider gears that support the shafts to later style 29 spline spiders. i don't see why you would want to do this cause unless you are locking your 8.25, then the 27 spline shafts are more then adequate to handle up to 35" tires with an open dif( a rear end without a locker). so unless you are switching to a locker, then i would just stick with the 27 spline shafts. hope this answers your question.
