regear?
i have a 96 5speed with a 8.25 rear axle.. how can i find out what gearing i have? and what exactly do these ratios mean? im kind of lost on that part.
i have a 4.5 inch lift on the way and im lookin to run 31s or 32s not quite sure yet.. how much power and or mpg would i loose from stock tires to running these?

If you have a 4.0 it should be 3.07:1..... To put simply if you have 3.07 it means for every 1 turn of the driveshaft the wheels turn 3 turns 3.07 to be exact. to find out there may still be a tag on the diff with the ratio.

i have a 8.25 i pulled out of a 97, i was not able to find a 44 at the time. anyway i regeard to 4.56, run toyo 33's and have a 4.0 HO and a ax-15 trans. i am happy with the fact that i can crawl over or thru quite alot. but it aint very good for the hole DD thing. that said i think i may some issues, vac leak, and ignition stuff. i am no expert just my 2 cents
