Reese Hitch Receiver
Just got my new XJ about a month ago, and this one has a hitch on it. I need help finding out what class hitch it is. The only thing I know is that it is a Reese Hitch receiver and there is a sticker on the right side that says "V-5" (I don't think this would be the hitch class), the part number, max trailer weight, and max tongue weight are rubbed off. The only other thing I can tell you is that the main body of the receiver/hitch are a box shape. I have been searching the internet for weeks but I couldn't find anything, I'm about 80% sure that this is a stock receiver, if you know anything that can help me please let me know.

if it's a Reese hitch, it's not stock.
What size is the receiver? If it's a 2" receiver it's a class III hitch.
Class III specs are:
GTW 3,500 lbs
TW 350 lbs
WDGTW 5,000 lbs
WDTW 500 lbs

Yea it's a 2 inch, but I know Reese makes a class III/IV and a class V hitch with a two inch receiver, I don't think it would be a class V but you never know, would a pic help?

Decided to look on amazon and eBay. You were right it is a class III/IV thanks for your help. I must have been out of my mind thinking it was a class V, I don't think they would even fit on a Jeep

I fed mine in attached to a spring/wire (attached using tape) .. a very long, painful process. Do a search on here--also there are instruction videos for installing a hitch on an XJ on youtube. Find a decent method and save yourself lots of frustration
