Default Red switch (not sure if it's OEM)

Anyone know what this switch is for? When turned on the switch lights up and the rear reverse lights light up.
Thanks!

It's not OEM. The PO must've decided not to put a new backup light switch in and put them on a toggle switch

not OEM, someone probably put that in to either use reverse lights as spot lights when off roading, or the reverse switch went out and you have to hit this to indicate youre going in reverse.

lol beat me to it... by seconds!!!

This is what I bet it is. When you put it in reverse do the back up lights come on? If not then that is more then likely why it's there and you have a bad or out of adjustment NSS.

No lights when in reverse. Is that difficult to repair?

You either have to clean or replace the NSS. Here's a link on how to clean it.

The one thing you will have to figure out is how re ran the wires to the light.

Does the jeep have a tow hitch? If so he probably used this as a spot light when hooking up a trailer just what I think hopefully he didn't cut the wires out..
