Red Angel is one of the few safe "stop leak" products for A/C. All it does is swell the o-rings and seals. The safe sealers say "oil based" or something similar.
They can work if o-rings and/or seals are the problem...they will not work if there is a leak in any other parts.

The other kind - the sealers that advertise ability to 'find and seal holes' can turn your entire system into scrap.

Any stop leak can screw up A/C machines like I use everyday. Find the leak and fix it, there is no mechanic in a bottle.

^x2^! Especially when it comes to your more sensitive components, i.e. radiator, transmission, engine.

If it does work, it's just a band-aid fix. You'll eventually be causing yourself more issues down the road!

Stop leak is a bandaid and will cost more money to fix later.

Its like a 19% interest rate on a car. You may think it is great at first but it will eff you over in the end.

Don't even think about using that crap. I bought some, then put my system under a vacuum and monitored the rate of loss. It fell within their stated parameters for using it.

After it didn't stop my leak (turned out to be the evaporator) I tore my whole system apart and did everything right. When I went to remove one of the lines at the condenser it was frozen solid. I worked for hours trying to get the line off...I finally had to cut the $40 line off and had to use vice grips to free it.

I emailed the company about a refund and told them my story...they never even returned the email.
