Default rear yoke help on a 96 xj

my yoke got all messed up when my u-joints broke so i went to the junk yard to get a new one and when i got home it wouldnt fit but i got it off a cherokee... the one i got looks like this
but mine looks like this
can anybodey tell by these parts do i have a differnt axle

A 96 Cherokee can come from the OEM with a Dana 35 or Chrysler 8.25 rear axle. I bet you were sold the yoke for the wrong axle.
