Default Rear Window Washer Fluid Dispenser

Hello All,

When I bought my '99 Jeep back in the summer I noticed that the rear window washer wasn't working. It bothered me but I didn't do anything about it until recently when I started driving it this winter.

I don't have the driver's manual so excuse the simple question. Where is the rear window washer fluid dispenser located? Does it operate off the front window washer dispenser (which works fine)? If so, what could be the issue? Thanks in advance!

Hi. I have a 99 as well. The rear washer motor is located in the left (driver's) front wheel well. Its part of the main reserve and should be the upper motor as there are two. Any local store sells them. You have to pull back the inner fender lining. Have someone turn on the wiper wash and listen to see if its running. If it is... Take a look at your wiper and see if the jet is clogged/rusted

I replaced the front washer motor on my 2000 XJ a few weeks ago. FYI, when you remove the plastic fender cover, it's likely at least a few of the nylon push fasteners will break. I found a bag of replacement push fasteners at my local NAPA. None of the other parts stores carried them.

That would be a good one to post a few photos of during the install process for others to see and find in the future search's.

Do you by any chance remember the part number for those fasteners? I've got the same issue with the rear pump and I'm sure those fasteners will not survive the removal process. Thanks in advance.

Alas, no. Sorry, I no longer have the bag in which they came.

My local NAPA store has a big rack of nylon fasteners. I simply "paged" through the racks until I found something that matched the original fasteners. I did the same thing for the door panel fasteners. Almost all of those were broken when I bought my XJ. (Poor sound system install.)

Those plastic push rivets are also available at most hardware stores in the nut/bolt/screw isle, usually in pull out drawers marked automotive fasteners.

That's not the type of fastner used in my 2000 XJ. Also, in my experience, whenever I'm seeking that type of fastener at a hardware store or at a big box store, they are completely out of stock. Can't hurt to check, of course.

I've seen an assortment of such fasteners at my local Advanced Auto Parts store.
