Default Rear wheel cylinders from autozone

Hey all,

I recently bought a couple of new wheel cylinders for my cherokee (XJ, 1988 i6) but since my car is in Sweden I didn't have time to make sure they're correct until I got home.

To my suprise, they don't fit.....they have a little bulge on the top where the bleedingscrew is located rather than be flat like the original (the originals are very rusty though..)

Are you supposed to be able to fit them perfectly with your hand or is gentle persuasion something that's needed? Im guessing the former.

The backing plate is cut to fit, so the cylinder should fit perfectly. IDK what tranny is in you JEEP but there are two rear brake sets for the back. Almost all of the auto trannys' had the 10in x 2 1/2? drums and the manual had the 9.5in x 1 3/4.

It's the AW4 but should that affect the cylinders?

It's a Dana 35 - so different rear axles have different backing plates? Probably a very "noob" thing to ask but it's my first jeep and all.

I'd be willing to bet that you got wheel cylinders for the 10" brakes. (33627 and 33628)

You need the cylinder for 9" brakes. (30089) Same part left and right.
