Rear Track Rod (Panhard Rod) Installation
Due to experiencing a few issues whilst towing an A-Frame, I would like to investigate the options of installing a track rod type device to keep the rear suspension from moving sideways.
Any leaf spring setup has a certain amount of sideways deflection from the twisting of the leafs and movement in the bushes. This causes undesirable effects whilst towing an A-Frame and can also be felt whilst towing any multi-axle trailer as the trailer/towed vehicle will resist turning.
Has anyone investigated the installation of a rear link arm? Could a front arm be modified? Where on the chassis would such an arm be connected?
I am guessing I don't need something as complicated as a Watts Linkage or similar, if a simple Track Rod (Panhard Rod) is sufficient for the front, I would assume it would be fine for the rear too.
Thanks for your thoughts guys.
