Ok so I have a 98 jeep Cherokee with a factory rear sway bar and 3 inches of lift. I already have an idea in my head for the front. I was thinking about just taking the rear one off because from what most people say it doesn't do anything anyway. So I ran it past my dad and he said try looking into quick disconnects. No one makes them for the rear and I don't see a very good way to fab one up in the rear like I will in the front. Do any of you guys know a good way to rig something up in the rear?

Hahah I know I have tried telling him that. I should just take it off at work or wait until I go back to college next week.

Yeah just do it. It seriously doesn't do anything but keep you from flexing in the back

Or accidentally break a bolt when working under it on something.

You lifted it right? The reason the sway bar is there cuz the stock leafs are weak, keeps the body roll to a minimum.Stiffer springs no longer a need for the sway bar. So take it off.

If he ever does notice it's gone I will just tell him It broke at Raush Creek one weekend during school so I just took it off. It's such a small diameter anyway it can't do anything.

If you take it off you can use the mount brackets as bar pin eliminators

Trash it. I took mine off last week due to the fact that it made so much noise it sounded like I was dragging a can of marbles under the car. Sadly I replaced the bushings and end links a month ago thinking that would eliminate rattles but it turns out I should have saved the time and $$ and just tossed it from the get go. I don't even notice a difference in the ride.

Default rear sway bar

ok, dumb question. I put a 3.5 inch basterd pack on, im concerned about the weight. how will it effect the rear end without the sway bar? I actually am a blacksmith and a scout leader, so I frequently tow either a camping trailer full or a heavy demonstration trailer. I'm concerned about the extra weight causing instability on the highway while towing.
