Default rear speaker wiring

I have a 1994 cherokee sport. It does not have any rear speakers. It does have the grills for the speakers in the rear liftgate panel. What I would like to know is if the wiring is already in place to hook up rear speakers, or do I have to run the wiring.

if the wiring is there, it would be up along the drivers side tucked under the trim to hold the headliner.

Your '94 should have the harness tucked behind one of the panels like these other gents have said. Most jeeps came pre-wired even if they didn't come with speakers. I'd say start with the upper trim piece and if it isn't there, work your way up the drivers's side.
