Default rear shock upper bolts

does anyone know if you can get to the end, or on top, of the upper bolts to get some spray on them so gravity will take the lube down towards the head, instead of just hiting the bolt heads with spray lube and watching it drip off? thanks

Theres lil access hole towards the outside of the jeep. They are sorta part of the shock mount.

Yeah..the same holes you will soon be snaking new bolts thru when your feeble attempt to loosen up the old ones fails...

Kidding...Good luck..but be prepared for them to snap off regardless of how much you soak them.

they'll break. plan on it. just break off the bolt and take it to the hardware store so you know what diameter to get. otherwise I think you're wasting time. even if it does come apart you'll want to put new bolts in once you see their condition.

I bet Ill have to do that to mine dont think the shocks have ever been changed. Got lucky with my buddies XJ was able to get the bolt out but snapped a small piece of the bolt off so I drilled it out and retapped it then ran a nice new bolt in place

Just twist them off, and pound out the remains with a punch, life goes on and the sun will rise tomorrow......
