Just did my shocks for the rear on my Jeep yesterday and I snapped all 4 bolts your going to no matter how easy you are on them. The best way to do it is snap them then take a punch and get you or a friend with alot of strength and knock out the nut that's welded to the frame and stick a 3/8-16-7/8 grade 8 bolt with a locking washer fish it threw the top with a mechanics grabber or some people use fishing line, and put the nut on the bottom of the shock mount. NO redneck tales of cutting holes in the trunk or welding the shock mount to the body. If you were wondering I did size, thread, then length for my number up top for any confusion.

I found a very nice thread a long while ago but haven't been able to find it since, but the most useful thing i got from it is to use a wire to fish the bolts in. Just wrap the bolt with the wire into the threads enough to hold it, fish it through, put nut on the bolt or hold it, and pull wire out

THANKS JEFF FOR THE PICS, MANIAC, I THINK I REMEMBER WHAT THREAD YOU WERE TALKN ABOUT, YES, THAT WAS A PRETTY DECENT ONE,I WAS HOPING THERE WAS A SIMPLE WAY RATHER THAN CUTTING THE FLOORS OPEN, I HAVE ENOUGH WORK TO DO AS FAR AS FIXING HOLES IN THE FLOOR! LOL SO, THE BOLTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIT ENOUGH BETWEEN THE CROSSMEMBER AND THE FLOOR PAN? DONT WANT TO SEEM NEEDY, BUT WHAT SIZE/LENGTH BOLTS DID YOU USE, AND WERE YOU ABLE TO KNOCK THE NUT WITH THE REMAINING BOLT OUT WITH THE PUNCH, OR DID YOU HAVE TO DRILL, SIZE OF BIT IF SO??? tHANKS AGAIN GUYS!!

Yes the nut was able to come out with the punch but not by me I was not strong enough no drilling required and the bolt size was 3/8-16-7/8 size thread then length. Just punch, fish bolt/washer, then tighten up the nut on the bottom good to go. Your welcome.

X2 on this did mine friday and saturday. Get an air chisel, knocked the nuts out in mine in literally less than 30 seconds drill and tap is not with the time, this way is much faster and easier.... Believe me I tried to drill and tap. Use a small wire and wrap it a little around the end of the bolt and fish the wire through and pull the bolt through

Lol we like collect air tools... And well all tools lol if that chisel didn't work then we had a big daddy chisel that would have.

Cousin has an 01 and said mine rides so nice he wants them on his. I told him if he bought them I'd put them on

Yea I could take my shocks decompress and compress them like a thigh blaster with no resistance also new shocks got rid of the shacking from going 60 MPH. Ranchos don't make is ride like a caddy but it doesn't ride like a brick house happy medium with the solid front.
