Replacing my rear main seal on the 2000 XJ.
The Fel-Pro seal kit has the bottom seal with the ears on it. My main bearing cap is not grooved to accept the seal with ears. If I buy another seal kit can I use the top seal from it, for the bottom seal? Or is there another seal kit for this configuration? Anyone run into this issue?
Thanks

Hardened oil filter adapter O rings might leak and look allot like a leaking rear main seal. The oil blows back. Also if your front vent on the Valve cover is not nice and free, (no silly filter deal), crankcase pressure might make the rear main ****. Best of luck to you! Here's an adapter deal>>
