And why does it have to be Metabo? Aren't there other good brands?

A Metabo is an angle grinder.http://www.lehighvalleyabrasives.com...0-met600488420 If you are cutting heavy metals they cannot be beat, not cheap but worth every penny. I have had mine for about a decade or so, learned about them in my trade.

Gotcha. I know which bolt your referring to. If you can't get it free, cut the darn thing off with an angle grinder, press out the bushing and replace the bushing with a new one.

It may not even destroy the bushing, if you cut the bolt off you may be able to pound it out with a punch.

A Metabo is a brand of tool, like Bosch, Porter Cable, Craftsman, DeWalt, etc.

Sorry for starting up the Metabo debate... yes. I concede it is a brand and I wasn't specific about which tool I was referring to. Please, all, accept my most heartfelt apology. Dad always said.... grab the Metabo. It was the only Metabo product we have... although if dad had said "Grab the Colt." I would've grabbed his 45... not a can of beer.

Really though, back to the issue, what is happening with the bolt? Any progress?

The other idea may be if you replace them, put anti seize on the new bolts so they don't rust into the new sleeves.
