Default Rear interior clunk?

I am getting a very annoying clunk in the rear of my xj, sounds like it is inside almost. It was there before I lifted the jeep rencetly and I was hoping it was a suspension clunk and new lift would eliminate it but it did not.

Any thoughts on a clunk towards the rear of the jeep?

U-joint in the rear could possibly be clunking! I'd check that!

Recently I diagnosed liftgate knock and glove box knock in my XJ.
Only highly trained mechanic with at least 15 years experience could do that!

My shackles were way tight. Every time i hit a bump, even the slightest and a loud clunk would shake the whole jeep. Loosen them up so they flex out plenty and are able to articulate.

Another idea is the lift gate interior panaling. I had to put in a few more screws through the existing connections to stop it from bouncing around.

Last idea was the spare tire rack, if you still have it in the stock location. Just make sure its really tight.
Good luck, hope this helps!! Happy jeepin

Hmm good suggestions

What did you do for the tailgate fix?

I tried seeing if the driveshaft had any play, nothing would that eliminate the u joint?
