rear hatch strut ball
My 92 jeep cherokee has a damaged strut support ball so I ordered new ones. Went to unscrew it with torx and it just spins. Tried leveraging it with a screw driver and still just spins. I see no way to get behind it without cutting metal. Anyone ever experienced this?

I have this issue, 92 Jeep Cherokee Limited, rear hatch strut ***** mounted to upper body. I have 1 that is bent and was missing strut when I got it. Put strut in that has a retaining pin that has a clip that snaps around the shaft of the strut. One or two times opening hatch and it popped off, tearing the pin right through the side of the strut ball, peeling the steel up and away from the lip of the strut ball. Sending it back, new ones here, but want the ball I am connecting to be either straight or replaced.
