The clip that holds the adjusting rod for my rear hatch is broken. Anyone know where to find a replacement. Or, beter yet...anyone come up with a replacement mechanizim to get rid of the crapping clip all together ?

Bump... I have the same problem but I just gave up on fixing it and started using a small pry bar from the inside of the Jeep to get it open

 

This seems to be a common problem. Guess I need to come up with a fix kit and sell it

 

Been scoping out the hard ware store for possible hardware. Best I've been able to some up with is threaded rod on a coupler for the adjustment. I'll have to drill and tap the coupler to thread in rod to make a T to bolt through the latch mechanizm. This is the best I've come up with so far since I don't know #$@! about welding.

Probably will not attempt this until the next time the threads jump on the clip and I have to take of the interior panel to unlock it.
