The rear hatch on my Jeep is cracked. It's an 87' Cherokee, so I'm pretty sure it is made of fiberglass, it looks like it is. What would be the best thing to repair it with?
Basically, remove the hatch, remove the hatch interior, apply the Bondo to the inside over the crack and reassemble. Should be strong and you won't have to color match as with a hatch off a wreck.
You can always go the new/junker route if it doesn't work and you're only out $10 and your time.
Have fun and a pic of the repair is always nice.
I prefer the 3m repair kit with the screen. I have repaired numerous holes with it. You can also get matching factory paint at automotivetouchup. Iirc bondo isn't flexible.
If it is a legit crack you will have to drill a hole at the end to stop it from spreading.
