Default Rear Hatch

The rear hatch on my Jeep is cracked. It's an 87' Cherokee, so I'm pretty sure it is made of fiberglass, it looks like it is. What would be the best thing to repair it with?

I only work at Starbucks. I'm not looking for expensive stuff, just cheap, good repairs I can do, and do right.

You should be able to find one at a Junkyard for cheap.

I've purchased Bondo with glass fibers mixed in to repair some holes in my RV. Not pretty but it has held up well.

Basically, remove the hatch, remove the hatch interior, apply the Bondo to the inside over the crack and reassemble. Should be strong and you won't have to color match as with a hatch off a wreck.

You can always go the new/junker route if it doesn't work and you're only out $10 and your time.

Have fun and a pic of the repair is always nice.

I prefer the 3m repair kit with the screen. I have repaired numerous holes with it. You can also get matching factory paint at automotivetouchup. Iirc bondo isn't flexible.
If it is a legit crack you will have to drill a hole at the end to stop it from spreading.

I live near Frisco, Texas, there aren't many, if any at all, junkyards around here.

Take a picture of the crack so we can see how bad it is.
